Sam Brownback is was the inspiration for this grassroots campaign called, “Cry USE not RAPE”. We have concluded that the acronym U.S.E. (Unplanned Sexual Event), when used regularly to replace the word “rape”, will remove the stigma associated with this sometimes unpleasant situation. It is our mission to protect the innocent lives of the babies that are part of His plan and eliminate the excuses given by many women when a precious baby just isn’t convienient.
Frank Bryant and his lovely wife Lynelle have graciously agreed to Chair the USE committee at our church. Frank is a 10 year Deacon of the church and owns a chain of Christian bookstores located in the South Eastern USA. Lynelle, my life long sister in Christ, stays busy raising their five boys and is the Owner/Operator of a Christian Day Spa in our community. Both Frank and Lynelle have been very active in the Pro-Life movement on a regional level and bring much experience to the USE outreach ministry.
In July we will be hosting our very first Freedom Toast Breakfast to officially launch the U.S.E. Campaign. We are pleased to announce that so far there are 46 other Baptist churches in the Southeast committed to hosting a similar event. Our goal is to have a Freedom Toast Breakfast with Sam Brownback as our guest of Honor and over 1,000 congregations supporting this effort by years end. So far Sam brownback hasn’t made an appearance at one of our breakfasts but we are hoping. We will keep you posted as progress is made. Your thoughts and prayers are much appreciated.

The Second Baptist Church of Rockdale in Rockdale, Georgia is hosting a U.S.E. Freedom Toast Breakfast from 8-11am in this morning in their Fellowship Hall. Tickets are $6.00 Adult/$3.00 Children. All proceeds will be donated to the Sam Brownback 2008 Presidential Campaign. At 8:30 EST this morning there were over 75 people in attendance and more expected. No one from the Sam Brownback campaign called or came by.
A total of 129 tickets were sold this morning! Congratulations to our Baptist friends in Rockdale! Thank you to Connie Houseworth for sending us this picture from their event.

Members report seeing the back of a head with hair that resembled Sam brownback but this has not been confirmed.

When Aunt Flow visits I just stay in the pool house until the Biblical time has passed. I will not submit my husband to my time of uncleanliness. During this week I don’t take any chances when it comes to my family. They can call me on my cell phone and I leave them casseroles in the freezer but I do not have phyiscal contact with any of them. I have my body trained so that by Saturday my visitor leaves and come Sunday I cam clean and can return to my family and church. PTL!

I too had some trepidation when I learned that Sam wasn’t a Protestant in the sense that we know is His way. Unlike the candle and incense burners, Sam doesn’t buy into all that Mary hooey-phooey and he isn’t afraid to pray in public. My husband was at a Christian Cattleman’s luncheon last year in Texas and had the pleasure of sitting at the table beside Sam, who was the keynote speaker. During the prayer my husband peeked over and saw Sam Brown with his head bowed, hands folded, and mouthing “Father, forgive me my sins and bless this food for which we are about to receive.” So I know that Sam doesn’t use a third party mediator for praying. I took this is a sign in the right direction. I wouldn’t give you two cents for the typical Catholic and for the most part consider the whole religion almost cult-ish. But Sam is a REAL Christian who I imagine will convert to a truthful Protestant religion, preferably Baptist, after he is elected. We have to consider that Sam has a powerful following of the Mary Worshipers in the United States of God , and Sam needs those votes.

However, what you fail to realize is that it is the woman’s responsibility to nurture that precious little baby from the second it is conceived. Allow me to put this in terms you may understand better. As a child, when you would go to the dentist to have a filling, it might no9t have been a particularly pleasant experience. However, after the procedure was complete, the dentist might come in and give you a small trinket as a reward for being such a good patient. It does not matter if it was a balloon, lollipop, or small toy, the point is that during that unpalatable treatment you just knew that a gift was waiting for you as soon as it was over. It is the exact same thing with a woman who has experienced U.S.E.®.

Kristine, were you serious? I’m really hoping your post was a joke. Menstruation is a sin? Are you saying that a girl’s first period is murder? By your reasoning, every girl should marry at around the age of twelve and start bearing children immediately in a constant cycle. Girls start menstruating BEFORE they start ovulating. Sometimes women don’t ovulate on any given month, yet they will still menstruate. Is that murder?

Rape is a violent act, generally by a man to a woman of extreme hate/malice for women. They want power. They want some form of sick dominance. (Look it up in a Psychology book–it would be extremely helpful to you blind ignorant people.) It is never a woman’s fault when some guy rapes her. I’m going to assume none of you have ever been raped. And if you have then you have issues on whom to lay the blame. And to say that the punishment for men is between them and God is asinine. With that logic, someone could rape at will their entire life and think nothing of it. Already 1 in every 3 or 4 girls are sexually assulted at least once in their life. Imagine the numbers on your sick twisted “logic.”

Look at the food labeled unclean…like pig and shellfish. It was impossible to clean those things back then to make them safe to eat. Now, it’s fine because we have the technology for that stuff. (try to follow and add “2+2″ here) When it comes to your period it really is healthy. To begin having children at 12-16 and continue constantly for the rest of your life is unhealthy. It can have horrible effects on your body. But still, that cycle in your body remains to keep you healthy. Imagine you had no period. Your body would prolly become infertile. Then there’s nothing you can do for a kid if later you want one.

I alluded to an actual event that happened to the leader of a similar group (Ted Haggard), as well as to the fact that this sort of hypocritical behavior regarding sex is a problem with right wing religio-political organizations. I don’t belive in Abortian, I think it’s a form of murder and it’s the responsibillity of the person that had the un protected intercorse to have the baby and deal with it.
The one time I waver on this is in RAPE (see look I used the word) cases. In rape cases, it is not the fault of the pregnant woman that she is pregnant, and often women who have been raped and then give birth end up abusing their child, surely it’s better to not bring the child into the world than to abuse it?

You know, I used to work for the military – part of my job placed me in the investigations department of the Sexual Assault Task Force for my base and branch of service.
As much as I hope a site like this is a psr0dt; what concerns me greatly is that I found this page through a google search for “sexual assault counseling”. I would hate for a woman who had experienced the truly traumatic even of a rape to find this kind of website.
When a woman has been raped, she undergoes profound psychological trauma. She doesn’t need to have a bunch of people thumping her with guilt about an unborn baby as well.

I lost my virginity when I was raped when I was 17 in my parents house. I am therefore the most horrible person on this site according to many of you. I didn’t tell anyone cause I thought it was my fault. I had a miscarriage, if I hadn’t(not saying I’m happy I had one) I would be a struggling single mother trying to get by on minimum wage. Now I am happily married with a child on the way I went to school and I have a nice job. Because I got an education I will be able to be at home with my little girl. I am so happy that we are able to give her a good life and she will have a loving family to come into. I know now that the horrible thing that happened was NOT my fault in any way shape or form.
I think every woman has a choice. When people protest it and make laws against certain things those things don’t stop happening…. if you have a law against abortion it will still happen it just will not be controlled and could cost the life of the women as well. I think everyone should have a happy life and a happy life can only come by independence if you can’t make a choice of that magnitude on your own, there is no life.
I also do not understand where you think life begins does it begin at birth? does it begin when the sperm reaches the egg? Does it begin when blood starts flowing through the fetus? If you use birth control is that against your beliefs as well? Is a miscarriage against the rules too? Your saying that rape is the woman’s fault and she can’t help that so is it also the woman’s fault if she has a miscarriage?

Another question for the people in favor of this cause: what makes you think that every woman who gets pregnant will be raped? Most women, as a matter of fact, do not get pregnant when they are raped. There are several reasons for this… the woman may be on the birth control pill, the rapist may use a condom, the woman may not be ovulating, or perhaps conception just doesn’t occur by chance. Also, after an experience like rape, a woman will have post-traumatic stress disorder, that puts such a strain on the body that either implantation does not occur on the endometrium or a miscarriage occurs very soon after. How, then, is this (I hate to put it this way) “fruitless rape” part of God’s plan? If you say that it’s to punish the harlot, I will be LIVID.
Also, you never responded to someone else’s question that I think was very important- what about men who rape other men? Or men who rape boys, or little girls, or the elderly, who have no chance of getting pregnant? Nowadays, sadly enough, it’s not so uncommon to find nursing home workers who rape their patients. How could this be part of “God’s plan?”

What they don’t realize is one in every three or four girls are sexually assulted at least once in their life. One in ten or twleve guys are. It happens from the ages of 18 months to 80. It’s a recurring theme in literature (Just read King Lear to see how Edmund is doomed from the beginning because he is the bastard son of Gloucester). It doesn’t make sense to me either. I was always taught “do unto others” “love thy neighbor as thyself” etc. The basic principle of feminism is that a man is equal to a woman as should be treated as such. How is that not “do unto others”? Now, I’m not saying agree with everything that every single feminist ever says, just like I’m not saying don’t agree with everything that every single Christian says, but why the rift?
My Christians teachings led me to feminism. I think that verses such as “love thy neighbor” should trump most anything else. Jesus loved us so much to die for us, the least we could do is love each other.

However, the arguments used by those who oppose abortion are illogical as well. If you consider abortion to be murder (implying pre-meditation), then there is no logical way to make rape (or USE) an exemption for murder. Now, if you do offer an exception for rape (or USE), you are essentially saying that abortion is not murder (how can you ever legalize murder in any circumstance), but that you still think that women should be forced to have unplanned children. What this implies is that having children is some sort of punishment for unprotected sexual activity. It is impressive that “pro-lifers” love babies so much that they consider having them to be a punishment. You don’t know who has and hasn’t done drugs here, and I’ll tell you that 98% of American teens have tried pot. Now, are you saying that 98% of teens are Liberal? No, they are not. (I’m one of the 2% by the way.) You’re also judging a “book by its cover.” Corrupt could refer to many things. And also, if you really really want to convert someone (or have even a prayer of a chance) then the whole fire and brimstone generally doesn’t do it. Alcohol abuse in teens and adults….
Alcohol is used more frequently than all other illicit drugs. Also, a teen that drinks is four times more likely to become dependent as an adult. Many teens take their first drink inbetween the ages of 11 and 13 and those that do become dependent do so around 16 (depends on when they start). Those that drink at an early age show an increase in aggressive behavior as a teen and into adulthood. Ummm, inbetween 16-24 year olds car crash, murder, and suicide are the three biggest causes of death…alcohol being the leading factor in all three.

Hello Judy thank you for the acknowledgement. Luckily our congregation does promote some free thought and believe me, while we may travel different roads with our beliefs and opinions, most of the people here abhor the brutal assault that mind soul and body suffer from.
I have never seen U.S.E as a sexual act, I have always considered it, regardless of who might be suffering this violation and degradation. as an act of violence and hatred. This is why all women are at risk, children and even some men.
Women and smaller weaker folks such as children have been murdered by people who saw them as “usable and disposable”. Perhaps it wasn’t explained clearly and goodness knows everyone usually reacts to this kind of topic, but I am certain that the majority of people here would not condone or wish that level of violence on anyone. I had a mother (Passed on now and I hope with all my heart, to Glory) and I have two sisters…I would want them to be safe on our streets, and in their homes.

Your words are not hollow, and few men, really, think like you do. I appreciate your thoughts, I sincerely do, and I thank you. I have read your responses, and I see that you are a man who respects women, something more men need to do, if they wish to have the respect of the women around them.
I think what bothered me most is this…I wasa foster child, unadopted, and I was brutalized in the homes of my foster parents. I have helped victims, for years, become survivors of their attacks, including one of my own children. I am a 40 yr old woman, who, due to medical complications, had to have several abortions. This is due to the health of my body, and the fact that I already had a child with whom I was not willing to leave. I had my child as a single parent, by choice. I spent 30 years in the Lutheran church, and found only condemnation for my being a single parent. However, I also found little solace when dealing with the rapes I had endured.
I am now the mother of two wonderful children, married to a wonderful man who accepts my first child as his own, and I have a step child with him, also born of non-wedlock. I have listened to these sorts of things being said, and honestly, would the church really prefer to return to the days of illegal abortions, women dying at the hands of the unskilled, serious injury caused by miscalculation and non0educated people performing them? Abortion has been around for thousands of years, and in the early days, it was commited through the use of certain herbs…this is not anything new over the last forty years. Why not make is safe, should it be required? I am not of the belief that abortion for the sake of birth control be condoned, however, there are circumstances where the mental and physical health of the “Potential mother” are warranted. That is where my anger arose.
I seriously hope that you are also preaching that children who are looked down upon, because of their age and problems in coming from bad homes, are to be adopted by those in your church, to provide a better environment for them while allowing them to heal. If you are sincerely doing that, while teaching your young men that a woman’s body is not to be taken in such a horrific manner, then you can be commended. However, is you are not making provisions for those children left behind, then it is something you should do

Thank you…it is why I left the church and returned to the beliefs of my ancestors, that of to Druidic orders. I found that women had purpose and often, before men decided it was necessary, led the clans. In fact, before the advent of the Christian church, men took a woman’s name in marriage, as she was the chosen leader of the household, and often, women were the social and spiritual leaders as well. (Northern European and often Greek belief systems), Spartans are notorious for respecting a woman’s opinion) I respect Christianity to the point that it is lived in no harm to anyone else, with a true respect for the laws set down, not abuses occurring as I see in the Christian faith now. What was once practiced in the Old Testament is not what is supposed to be occurring today, as is the teaching of Jesus. In the New Testament, Jesus was a tolerant and all loving individual, and you do not find that in the church today, instead, it is usually those who are judgemental and nonforgiving. How is that being Like Jesus?
Mr. McGragor seems to have his head on straight, and him, I respect. But in going through the postings on here, I am saddened by the cruelty and hatred I see coming from those who feel they are better than others simply because they believe in Jesus.

Without being too frank, let me tell you that often times when someone (like Mr Brownback) has opinions that are so off the chart, others rely on using the ’shock’ value of it to mimic their WAY OVER THE TOP positions to point out what a total farce the position was in the first place, kind of a ‘performance art’ to smack folks upside the head and make them see the reality of the stupidity posed by that person in the first place. Sadly, in this day and age a shock to the system is needed to realign people to a sheer human morality, one of peace, acceptance, kindness, understanding. If you actually take the time to peruse this site, and how strangely ‘over the top’ it is, perhaps this concept might come to you.

The faith I practice asks that no harm come to another through anything we do. We are held accountable for our own actions, and we know that what we do affects all around us, and that spirit is all around us, in everything, not just one building on Sundays. I sincerely hope that the use of shock value dies down, and that human kind can return to a more simpler way of life, where every person matters, not just those of a certain sect.

I love how I read the comments on your site regarding the equality of everyone, caring for everyone, etc. but yet you support the conservative politicians who continue to decrease taxes there by reducing the number of after school programs for children, educational assistance for incoming college students, health care for the masses at a reasonable price and many many more programs that would benefit those “less fortunate”. If you are so concerned about abortion, perhaps you should look at other alternatives, such as educational programs for children, to teach them safe sex, etc. The vast majority of abortions in this country come from college aged girls down to teenagers. Hmm, maybe programs that taxes support that teach youth to pratice safe sex could help young woman from becoming pregnant Also, maybe by offering afterschool programs to youth and other educational opportunites supported by taxes would allow the “less fortunate” youth greater earning potential in the future through advanced education. Then, when these greater income earners become adults and their children accidently get pregnant, they will have the financial means to support their children and their children’s newborns. (21.3% of women cannot afford a baby.)
I myself am in a higher income bracket and fully support raising taxes to help others that are in need. Your “politicians” continually accept mass amounts of funds from HMOs, Insurance companies, and other corporate entities so legislation can be passed to support their and their stake holders pocket books while taking basic necessities away from the average American. You profess to be followers of Jesus and “his” doctrine but yet you support individuals who suppress my fellow Americans. Hmmm? I wonder what Jesus would think about that? You continually point your fingers at “leftists” and “liberals” as promoting the opposite of what Jesus would support but yet the most “leftist” of the liberals believe in the same thing that I believe in. America was founded on the ideological belief of a “welfare state’ in that we support each other regardless of social stature or wealth. We are all here to support a common goal and that is the American dream that each individual has the freedom and support to follow their goals and dreams. Everyone will receive their judgment upon judgment day so how about everyone just put aside what they THINK the bible says, as it can be interpreted in many different ways, and get along with everyone and support all others and stop condemning others for their beliefs, they way the were born and other such things. The Bible tells you to “Love thy neighbor” yet all the majority of “Christians” do is condemn others and press their beliefs on them because they FEEL their religion is correct. If you press your beliefs unto others, then you should provide full proof evidence that your beliefs are correct and not use a flawed imperfect book like the Bible, as the Bible may be the word of “God” and states man is imperfect yet it was written by man therefore the Bible is imperfect.
On the topic of abortion, if you yourself were to be the victim of such a tragedy would you abort the fetus or keep it and allow it not to know that the child was the product of said tragedy? Also, if the mother whom was raped were life threatening and a cesarean were not possible would you be willing to say that neither life was worth saving and a crime against God?

Clinton is a woman, but we’ve all seen what men can do to this country (sorry, but men have a tendancy to be too greedy for power and wealth, ie: Dubya for example). Perhaps a woman would show more understanding and compassion for the needs of the people, rather than the need for personal power. They have no penis, so they have no need to prove that theirs is bigger than everyone else’s. There’s a reason weopons are shaped that way, from bullets to ICBMs, they all take on a phallus shape.

I’m just going to do some extrapalatory math to prove you wrong:
6.6 billion people on the planet.
2.1 billion christians.
Right there you’re outnumbered roughly 2:1, but lets go further:
lets say that Christianity has been around since 0 ad. Lets also say that the ratio of 2:1 has stayed constant without the world population.
A generation is roughly 25 years. That means that there have been 81 generations since 0 ad, counting the current one which is not completed. I don’t know the exponential graphs on population growth, but I know that that means you’ve been greatly outnumbered. if the population had reminained constant you’de have said that 356.4 billion people are wrong.
And, before the relatively short 2000 years of christianitys existance, there was NOBODY believing what you do.

I believe the correct language for you to use here would be along the lines of childish rants, senseless insults and outlandish lies. Those seem to be the most common types of language so would be the types they are most likely to understand. If, on the other hand, you are actually trying to get a serious point across to them, then my only advise would have to be for you to go ahead and turn around and talk to the wall behind you. Walls are capable of absorbing just as much information as closed minds are.

However, saying it is by definition infallible and inerrant. First, that’s not the definition of the bible, look it up. Second, the bible is quite literally littered with fallacies and errors, even unto itself, from the book of Genesis all the way through the book of Revelation. But the largest group of errors are in the first three books of the bible, I don’t blame the writers for those errors, I blame the limited knowledge of mankind itself for those errors.
However, you can’t really instill knowledge into a closed mind so my trying to use something as far fetched as facts or logic would be a waste of time here as I just told Locke it would be for (him/her). I suppose if I somehow survive giving birth and recover from critical condition I could give the baby up for adoption because I am simply too young to cope. However, will my body recover enough to have a child I actually want in the future, and will there be any life-long disabilities because of this which mean I won’t be able to do certain things?
Now, imagine I was YOUR child.
Do you really want that for me, your darling daughter you had such high hopes for?

I don’t expect to get any kind of real reply out of this, since you already showed your colors by pointing out that I had spelled one word incorrectly, when I made a few other valid points about this entire topic. The fact that you chose to comment on one typographical error and not respond to any of the other things I said just goes to show that you ‘use freaks’ can’t see past your own nose and screwed up ideas of life, religion, and spirituality. Well, I can tell you because I’m a rape survivor. I still get nightmares about the guy who raped me five years ago. And, yes, he RAPED me. He did not “U.S.E” me. What happened was the most traumatizing experience I have ever been through… it was not just an “unpleasant situation.” Waiting in a long line at a grocery store is an unpleasant situation. Being raped is a DEVASTATING situation.
