Sunday Morning Prayer for the children

Dear Lord,Our little ones will head off to school in the morning with brand new book bags, crayons, pencils, and tablets.
The lucky ones will be going to a private school where they will be taught by God-fearing, America-Loving educators who believe that a child’s mind is a terrible thing to waste. Sadly, the children from lower-income homes will be herded off to that den of iniquity known as the Public School System.
There they will be taught awful things and horrible lies, that no innocent little child should ever hear such as how their great-great-great-great grandparents were primates, that it’s OK to be Gay, that condoms and not abstinence prevent pregnancy, and that our Commander in Chief, President George Walker Bush, is a buffoon with a personal agenda.
These poor babies will be at the mercy of Godless, pot-smoking, hippy feminists and Liberals who, under the guise of teaching, will stop at nothing to brainwash them into hating morality and learning free thinking. Please send these children one message, that an open mind is a tool of Satan.
If it is your will, Papa Lord, close these babies minds to the left-wing lunacy that they will be exposed to and let this next generation our Your children grow up to be Right-Wing Christian Fundamentalists and staunch Republicans.

No human living today is the “child of an ape”. It´s merely the fact that we and todays primats both evolved from another species that existed millenia before us.
Evolution isn´t a process that happens from today to tommorrow, it takes generations for even smaller changes to take place. Take the Galapagos Islands. THe animals there ARE differrent than those living on the continents because they evolved in a differrent way to adapt to their environment. But one can still see that they´re related to their continental counterparts. The same is true with other such relations, like chimps and humans.
Last but not least, a match of over 90% of the genetical structure of two differrent lifeforms has about the same chance to be a mere coincidence as 10 million people all winning the lottery on the same day. (Or even less off a chance.)

Depends – one could consider the placebo effect a form of faith healing at its most literal, and prayer, like meditation, can help one to work things out in one’s own mind (Matthew 6:8 says similar – the act of saying a prayer would seem to be for our benefit, because God knows what we would be praying for anyway).

I chose to h.s. because a) there wasn’t a Christian private school within 50 miles of our home and b) I wasn’t about to let them go to a secular school. My kids are all on the honors list, Dean’s list and my second oldest will graduate Cum Laude from OU in Spring ‘08. Unless you know what you’re talking about I suggest you shut up.

Yes, he says that he’s not come to abolish but to uphold the law, etc etc, but its the paradigm, the underlying framework that changes.
Example – while the OT prescribes execution as the punishment for several crimes, Jesus tells us that only someone who is without sin (that is, no human) can cast the first stone. He hasn’t changed the Law.

I thought I wouldn’t dare post on the Sabbath, but after a fascinating morning service and a very enlightening Bible study, and taking Mother out for a drive around our small Christian town before having a wonderful brunch provided by the DAR, I just had to read what was going on with Baptists for Brownback.
Now all Jesus loving people please forgive me, but what is all this hateful speech about homeschooling? How else is a Christian to raise their small (about 6 children) family?
I don’t know where many of our dear readers are from, but the womenfolk in my town are expected to raise their children in the correct manner. Luckily most of them are married to good providers that can support the small family, but for those that can’t at least my Baptist Church does provide some opportunities for the less fortunate and allow the appropriate children a proper education free of the, well, less fair children in the area.
Praise Jesus, and do forgive me for posting on the Lord’s day, but hey, at least I don’t have a monkey as an ancestor.
And as for Carbon footprint? The only footprints I am aware of, are those of Jesus carrying his cross for our sins. Praise be!

Also, choldren aren’t taught that evolution is true. Every teacher makes it clear that it is only a theory, in fact, it shoudn’t even be claimed as a theory, considering that it can’t be proven. And that is from a teachers mouth and mind. They teach that being gay is alright because why would they discriminate against a simple child? The child wouldn’t feel accepted and therefore never find the power of god. Abstinence is and always has been encouraged at schools. They simply teach about condoms for the people who would have sex, so that the other person won’t get pregnant and/or an STD. Would you rather they didn’t know the glory of condoms at all? At schools they are not allowed to discuss politics and the teachers own views. So how does that work out? And I would love proof of the fact that they are pot-smoking hippies, I thought hippies didn’t care about politics…
And why is an open-mind SSOO horrible? You had an open-mind at one point or another right? Technically even now you have an open-mind, you’re able to think what you like i.e. this blog.
