Dear Friends and Gentle Readers,
Last night one of our astute members sent me the link to a disturbing article written by “Joe” at a blog called Joe.My.God. Joe, as it would seem, enjoys a semi-celebrity status in the homosexual circle for his irreverent and profane take on our Conservative and Christian America. Joe’s blog, a profane left-wing farce read if I ever saw one, left me speechless. It is hard to fathom that even the worst of our society, the sodomites, would consider the vulgar and often blasphemous tone of Joe’s ramblings entertaining. Then again, given that his target audience has turned their back on decency and natural law, and chosen a sinful lifestyle, I really shouldn’t be surprised.
The article titled, Love The Sinner, Hate The Service, offer his reader a perverse take on the controversy surrounding the Arlington, Texas High Point Church, that refused to host the funeral service of a Gulf War Navy veteran when they learned that a video collage to be shown at the funeral would feature the deceased, a homosexual, and another man kissing. Pastor Gary Simons defended his decision to cancel the service by saying that the church feels homosexuality is a sin, and it would have appeared to condone that lifestyle if the service had been held there. “We did decline to host the service – not based on hatred, not based on discrimination, but based on principle,” Simons told The Associated Press. “Had we known it on the day they first spoke about it – yes, we would have declined then. It’s not that we didn’t love the family.”
Does that sound like hate to you, friends? No it does not. It sounds like a compassionate minister saying to the world that sin will not be tolerated in God’s house in Arlington, Texas. Praise the Lord! That church is a 100% Sin-Free Zone, just like our own little ministry right here.
After reading several other articles at Joe.My.God, I concluded that it was Joe’s intent to incite a riot of civil disobedience and unrest directed towards Christians who he considers bigoted and homophobic. Therefore, Joe’s blog should be taken off the internet for blatantly disrespecting the beliefs of Fundamentalist Christians and Joe should be arrested for aggravating Conservatives and attempting to make a mockery of the Religious right.
Hey Joe, where did you think you were going with this smoking gun in your hand? Did you think that the homosexuals and their empathizers who feel that this was a display of discrimination, an uncharitable act, would actually write to the High Point Church expressing their outrage?
Woe unto Joe and his readers, for we on the uber-conservative Right and all of us Fundamental Christians believe that the Lord is coming soon, and we believe that your action and life choices will find you left behind. Repent now, Joe, and ask that the Lord shed mercy upon the wickedness that has become you for trying to make us look bad.

Maybe if more Christians showed more love and kindness to their fellow humans, then there would be less reason for people to feel a need to “attack” the behaviors of some Christians. I have to say that my drive for compassion lends me to feel sorry for the homosexuals. Even JoeMyGod. While we can say that many have been villifying and persecuting deep-faith Christians in the past several years, I can’t help but ackowledge that homosexuals have been persecuted for millenia.

We have this neat little thing in America called Freedom of Speech. This handy little concept allows you to spout forth all sorts of incorrect Biblical interpretations about gay people in a piteous attempt to make them disappear. It enables you to use your pulpits and churches to demonize minorities instead of inspiring your parishoners to do more in their communities for the less fortunate. It facilitates the expression of your severely warped social agenda. You should be extremely thankful for it.
Of course, it also enables Joe to mock you, point out the truly bizarre inconsistencies in your exegesis, and basically expose you for the sanctimonious hypocrites you all are. How that must chafe! But it is the price one pays for free speech.

I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some other elements of God’s Law and how to follow them.
1. When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the Lord – Lev.1:9. The problem is my neighbors They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?
2. I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?
3. I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanliness – Lev.15: 19-24. The problem is how do I tell? I have
tried asking, but most women take offence.
4. Lev. 25:44 states that I may indeed possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can’t I own Canadians?
5. I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2. The passage clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself?
6. A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an abomination – Lev. 11:10, it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don’t agree. Can you settle this? Are there ‘degrees’ of abomination?
7. Lev. 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggleroom here?
8. Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev.19:27. How should
they die?
9. I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?
10. My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev. 19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really
necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? – Lev.24:10-16. Couldn’t we just burn them to death at a private family affair like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14)

I read Joe.My.God everyday because his blog is one of the most insightful blogs around. He neither incites nor does he advocate the use of violence or discrimination on his blog. He simply points out that majority of the Christian people are not following the words of their chosen deity. As a little reminder, Jesus was friends with prostitutes and thieves, not those who were only deemed “holy and appropriate”. Just out of curiosity, what happened to the whole “Love thy neighbor”, “Turn the other cheek” and “Judge not lest ye be judged” (Matthew 7:1, in case you want to look that one up).

Thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding God’s law. I have learned a great deal from you and try to share that knowledge with as many people as I can. When someone tries to defend the homosexual lifestyle, for example, I simply remind them that Leviticus 18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination. End of debate. I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some other elements of God’s Laws and how to follow them:
1. Leviticus 25:44 states that I may possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not to Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can’t I own Canadians?
2. I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?
3. I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanliness (Lev. 15:19-24). The problem is, how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense
4. When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the Lord (Lev.1:9). The problem is my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?
5. I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath Exodus 35:2 clearly states that he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself, or should I ask the police to do it?
6. A friend of mine feels that, even though eating shellfish is an abomination (Lev. 11:10), it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don’t agree.
Can you settle this? Are there “degrees” of abomination?
7. Lev. 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle-room here?
8. Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev. 19:27 How should they die?
9. I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?
10. My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev. 19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? (Leviticus 24:10- 16)? Couldn’t we just burn them to death at a private family affair, like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws (Lev. 20:14)?
I know you have studied these things extensively and thus enjoy considerable expertise in such matters so I am confident you can help. Thank you again for reminding us that God’s word is eternal and unchanging.

He said nothin in regards to homosexuality. He was quoted a lot of different ways conflicting in the new testament. The new testament …well…the first of the books that were chosen was written more than 80 years after his death. The books of the new testament were chosen by the holy roman catholic church. Seems funny they chose all the books that strengthened the church and left out all of Jesus’ words about how he will not be found in a building.

This isn’t to say that I necessarily agree with you, but that just may be the most logical argument against homosexuality, per the Bible, that I’ve heard. As Christians, I think that our focus should be on the New Testament lessons that were taught by Christ himself, and less on the Old Testament teachings. Jesus was crucified because he went against a lot of those long-standing beliefs in the Jewish community, and it scared them.
That said, I am a left-leaning independent, a lapsed Catholic, and, of course, an emotional pregnant woman. But I do believe that if more people tried to explain their beliefs in the manner you just did, maybe you’d have more luck bringing people into the fold.

pardon the pun but the meaning is clear: if there is no procreation from the act then it is considered wrong. If the sexual congress is not done to have children then it is wrong. If a couple lay down together and they desire children from the act and do not conceive..it is not wrong.
I have found the teaching of repentance and then faith a little perplexing since I learned of it. Some teach that sinners must be willing to go and sin no more before they are believers. The condition for faith is: “are you ready to give up your sin” or “would you like to trade that which you love – whatever sin – for the forgiveness of God?” As I look at the story of the woman caught in adultery, I see that Jesus, when telling her to go and sin no more, had already spoken those wonderful words of life to her: “neither do I condemn you.” THEN he said, “go and sin no more.” Did He ask her if she was ready to commit her life to Him before He was willing to remove condemnation? Did she have to repent and then be justified?

I am putting the finishing touches on a post I will submit to the lovely Sister TDGC on the subject of Malignant Narcissim and how it is mislabeled today as the “Gay Lifestyle” and as luck would have it, I may have the opportunity to work on it and some of my other writings, including my treatise on circumcision in the beauty of God’s outdoors.
I may be going away for a few days on a church camping trip with Youth Pastor Steve. One of the escorts cancelled on him at the last minute and he needs someone else to help him mind the 16-19 year old boys on their camp out starting Saturday. He called me frantically a few moments ago, and I am trying to make arrangements for some of the ladies to look in on Mother and take her to services Sunday. I feel I am on the mend enough from my spill last Saturday and something tells me it might be best for Mother and I to miss a few weekends at the flea market. At first we thought there were no casualties when mother’s o-2 tank tragically caused the explosion of the Vietnamanese Sister’s Frog Leg Frying stand, but I had word last night that 3 cats perished in the blast. The sisters were apparently fixing to cook them when the accident occured.
In any event, Youth Pastor Steve also thought it might be a splendid opportunity and the correct atmosphere, gender-wise, for the young lads to absorb some some tips on proper personal hygenic practices, particularly the challeneges faced only by males. As you know, that was one of my specializations in the service.
I don’t suppose professional ethics would prevent me from trying to educate some of these folks posting today who are new to this ministry. As you are also a social science innovator and frequently deal with confidential information in the USE Ministry, I thought I would consult with you.

There is a difference between thinking homosexuality is a sin, or unnatural, and thinking that all gays/lesbians are going straight to hell.
Ignorance is one thing – not being exposed to it. I grew up in an insulated community in New England, didn’t know any gay people until I was 17. I met them, they were cool and answered questions, and didn’t seem evil or any more sex-crazed than most adolescents, so I began to realize that things my religious education taught me may not be all true.
Now, intolerance and bigotry is a matter of hearing the truth and not believing it, or refusing to acknowledge it and persisting in spouting off false “facts.”
It’s hard to blame someone for being ignorant – education can help solve that problem.
There is no solution for intolerance and bigotry.

I’ve tried to come into today without my “confrontation” hat on. (No, it’s not an actual hat, just a figure of speech.) I think that people should accept God into their lives, I did and my life got soo much better after I did – just easier to accept things and move on; know that there was a reason for what was happening.
But, if they don’t, I think it’s my job to love them more, as they are missing the love of God in their lives. Leading by example is what brought me back to God – my best friend is extremely spiritual/religious/whatever, and she’s so at peace with where she is that I wanted to know how she got there. I was certainly not inspired by people telling me that without God, I was damned to hell.

Many of the moderated posts were put into mod status as they were attacking not only our Christian congregation but many of our regular guests. Some of the stuff posted was just vile. In response, someone else pointed out another quote from the Old Testement stating that to not be Jewish is a sin worthy of death. The rebuttal from the moderator was that that particular one had bee ‘thrown out with the bathwater’ (or something to that effect).
How in good conscious can you pick and choose the passages you follow? How can you (not you, Moderator, but people in general) claim that one thing in the OT is invalid now without invalidating all of it? No one person can claim that God no longer wants us to follow that law, but this one is a shoe-in. Either it’s all valid, or none of it is.
Also, to tone down some hate-filled commentary, someone had posted (and I paraphrase here) that homosexuality was recently illegal, and so homosexuals should be locked up. However currently, there are hate-based laws in effect in many places, and many about uttering threats to body and life. Again, I ask how can one pick and choose what to follow?
Just looking for some clean debate and open dialogue.

I’m not on the side of the moderators of this site. Trust me. Or, ask them, they’ll tell you themselves. At the same time, having to respond to people who pop up here only to yell names and leave again isn’t nearly as entertaining as trying to present a reasonable argument against the views spouted by the website. In fact, in doing that, I’ve sort of clarified my beliefs in the past couple of weeks.
I completely respect your right to believe, or not, whatever you want to. I know that for me, my depression was hardest to handle when I didn’t think that God was there to help me. If you are strong enough to get through life on your own, more power to you. But for me, at this point in my life, I need to believe that there is something, someone out there who I can release my worries, fears, prayers to in order to live a normal existence.
Having said that, about half of my family is Catholic, 1/4 agnostic, and 1/4 atheist. This makes for fun drunken Chrismas Eves.

When it comes to what Jesus said, we preach this as well. When Jesus speaks of sexual congress behind two adults, he infers it to be heterosexual not homosexual.

Was Jesus Gay?
Ironically, there is some evidence that Jesus himself was gay. I am not claiming Jesus was necessarily sexually active, only that his natural sexual orientation was toward males rather than females. There is no explicit mention of him having sex with anyone in the bible. The very notion of homosexual is a rather recent invention. Every society has quite different attitudes and taboos about same sex affection and sexual activity. What I am saying is that if Jesus were alive today, people would label him gay. His behaviour might have been considered well within male behaviour norms in his day. This essay then is more about how society’s standards of acceptable behaviour have changed since biblical times than about Jesus himself.
In other words, if Jesus came back today, the religious right would crucify him anew as a homosexual
The Evidence
Jesus was one of the gentlest people who ever lived. He was no John Wayne. Usually we label such gentle souls pansies no matter what their sexual preference.
Jesus totally rejected the masculine code of valour and violence universally espoused in his time. Today such people are called commies, draft dodgers and queers.
Jesus refused to marry. This was far more peculiar in his day than ours. Rabbis were always married in his day. The fact he was not married casts some doubt on whether he was an official rabbi.
Jesus had plenty of opportunity to have sex with women, but he always avoided it. If a modern man did the same, we would assume he was gay.
Jesus hung out with disreputable people, including hookers, and all manner of sinners, including sodomites. If a modern man kept such bad company, we would not assume he was 100% heterosexual.
Jesus associated almost exclusively with men. He and his friends were physically intimate with each other, putting their heads in each other’s laps to dine. If a modern North American male behaved this way, it might raise some eyebrows.
Jesus and his male friends like to kiss each other, for example Matthew 26:49. We North Americans are rather inhibited about kissing each other, though Greeks and Russians do it with gusto. If a North American male did this, of course, we would assume he was gay.
Jesus’s “groupies” competed, each claiming to love Jesus the most.
John 13:25 tells of John lying with his head on Jesus’s breast. Straight men don’t do that, at least not in our culture.
