Scarlet Letter Campaign Update: A Victory!

Posted by Pastor Tobin Maker D.D on August 3, 2007

My friends, just 48 hours after I first suggested atheists and their products be clearly identified by a scarlet letter “A”, we have our first victory!

Pharyngula is a blog run by a science professor named P.Z Myers. Not only does Mr Myers believe in the fantasy of evilution, but every year he milks thousands and thousands of dollars out of the education system to indoctrinate children into his hateful cult. Like most liberal educators at America’s secular colleges, Myers lives a life of luxury at taxpayers’ expense—taking long vacations with his trophy wife, driving expensive foreign cars, dressing his children in exclusive fashions—all the while promoting his vengeful and deceitful ideology.

We at Baptists For Brownback, eager to test the “A” for atheism approach for the first time, were looking for a suitable target, and what better target than Pharyngula? As one of the most popular anti-Christian hate sites on the Internet, many innocent victims accidentally stumble upon it every day, and are exposed to the rubbish published there. In my capacity as a pastor and youth counselor, I have had to repeatedly deal with the spiritual fallout from such shameful episodes.

Hopefully, tragic mishaps like that will soon be history. After two days of intensive lobbying by Mrs. T.D. Gaines-Crockett, Lynelle Bryant and myself, the “Science Blogs” community, which hosts Pharyngula, has agreed to place a scarlet “A” on the left-hand sidebar of the blog. From today, any Christian who inadvertently comes across this filth page will immediately know it is not a suitable place in which to dwell.

This is only a small, initial step, but it is a significant one. We have seen what righteous anger and forceful advocacy can achieve, and are working to insure that soon, very soon, every Christian will know their enemies by the badge they wear. Praise!

Yours in Christ,

Tobin Maker, Resident Pastor, Baptists for Brownback 2008

I think our blog deserves to be listed on hellbound :)

How will Christians know what the A stands for? Unless it comes with an explanation, people may be lead to believe that this site gets an “A” rating. Not that I agree with the site (haven’t even checked it out), I just don’t think it will be effective.

  4. roopster,

Your blog doesn’t deserve anything but a big scarlet “A”. It’s a pure hate site–designed to persecute Christians.

    JustMe,

Word of the “Scarlet A” is spreading and it will soon be as recognizable to Christians as the “skull-and-crossbones” poison symbol.

    Bless you.

  5. JustMe said

BTW Pastor Maker–if the site is a pure hate site, according to you, it should receive some sort of letter/brand.

  6. JustMe,

Of course it should. Didn’t I just say it did?

    Bless you.

  7. JustMe said

    Hehehe…my apologies!!! Didn’t notice that!!!

Pastor Maker, how will it help Christians if we avoid nonChristian sites all together? We will have absolutely no idea what we’re up against, and I find that a dangerous position to be in.

    Dear Pastor Maker

Praise God for your Victory! Triumphal! Abundant!

This evening at our Men’s Fellowship I requested prayer for one of the lost souls tormenting Bro. McGregor on here. When I came home and read what had transpired I was shocked that Sisiter June had come to the conclusion that Veronica (afore-mentioned lost soul) was a Negree. I hope you will take this lapse of time into consideration.

In addition, if you have time, I wanted to tell you about a thrilling experience at Fellowship tonight. Glory!

I had the great good fortune to sit next to our new Youth Pastor, Steve. Praise God, Steve is a very experienced man for his age, only 27, having ministered to youth in congregations in 13 different states in just over the past 6 years! Can you imagine all that upheaval and moving about? As he is unmarried, as I am myself, I have no doubt that it was much easier for this exceptional young man to go to where he was needed to tend to young true Christians crying out for his guidance. Praise God for young people of his ilk. Triumphal! Abundant!

I realize your time is valuable, Sir, so, I remain,

Salutations in Christ! What a warm welcoming topic to find myself in. Thank you Dear Brother Yancy for your concerns and I know that and prayers offered have been my bastion whilst I was away attending to business this evening.
Just think…The Scarlett Letter mission make take angelic wing! It is hard to keeps the swellings of excitement to a more modest and mannerly level.
When great works are abounding it is hard to remain humble and quiet, content in the work.

I shall pray for more humility even as I try to repress a grin for all the bountiful good news.

The one blemish on this otherwise wonderful evening is that I see our trusty and long serving moderators were kept busy keeping the noisy unsafed populations in their place…

I pray they are not over taxed with the arduous labor of reading such drivel and then scooping it off the page like some long rancid kitty litter.
Still….it looks like a very productive evening and we can all allow ourselves…especially our good Pastor Maker, a small modest clap on the shoulders and a pleasing “well done!”

Pastor Maker, they probably agreed to it because they see it as a badge of pride. Being hated by you is sort of a compliment.

  17. Linus said

You are aware that the blog selected to put that there, as a mark of pride?

And all of you people who are confused by the motives of this blog… by the rationale offered here, it needs a “Scarlet A” as well, or so it appears to me.

  18. ***UNChristian Word Removed*** said

    Pastor Tobin Maker

Yes, I know that’s it’s important to indoctrinate children with religion while they’re young. What adult would come to believe this nonsense on his or her own?

  19. I am not surprised to see that your post against PZ is a pack of lies. The purpose of the A is not to destroy Christianity or to promote hate. You are conflating is with racialists and white supremacists (which enjoyed a great deal of Baptist complicity, btw.) The purpose is to let atheists who feel beleaguered by the Christian majority in this country know that they are not alone. We hope that the people who have to hide their beliefs from their neighbors to at least know that they aren’t alone in their beliefs.

You have posted blatant lies about PZ’s personal beliefs. You know nothing of his family, his wife nor his children. His wife is not a “trophy” wife, like Newt Gingrich’s latest girlfriend, she is his childhood sweetheart. I have seen his car. It is not a luxury car by any means. I have met at least one of his children and he has published photos of others on his site, and they are not dressed in “exclusive fashions” by any means.

You don’t like what he posts; fine. I can assure you, however, that in his “day” job he is a dedicated educator who focuses on origins through the means that can be learned through the scientific method, and in his blog he spends some time ridiculing those that deny what can be reliably learned through objective means. He is not a hateful person, but neither is he shy.

You, for some odd reason that belies your dedication to the Ten Commandments, bear false witness regarding the Scarlet Letter A on the blogs of those that choose to self-advertise their atheism (mine included, and I have no affiliation with either Seed Magazine nor their ScienceBlogs.) It is a choice, one made freely, and one which other atheist sciencebloggers have rejected. And I find it odd that you wish to take credit for a symbol first promoted by Richard Dawkins.

You have been caught prevaricating on several fronts, and if you seek converts among educated people, and even people that have the ability to do a wee bit of fact-checking, then your ministry is spiritually bankrupt.

Finally, I find the idea that considering tattoos bearing “A” or “L” or whatever you find to be distasteful to be itself repugnant and perhaps a taste of what would happen to plurality in your fantasy Brownback presidency. Please re-read _The Scarlet Letter_ and pay special attention to the ending. Who was the father? And where was his letter?

Your secret sin here is to lie about PZ, about atheists, about the Scarlet Letter (both the novel and the new Atheist symbol) and you should public acknowledge that either you have no knowledge of PZ’s personal life, or if you do, that you have lied about that as well.

I read in your sidebar that liberal antogonists call this site political satire. You may want to do a spell-check on that.

As an atheist who loves and respects his Christian friends and family, I’ll tell you that screeds like Pastor Tobin’s helped more in my de-conversion than any words from any atheist. His writing such vitriolic, boastful, misleading tripe and closing with “Yours in Christ” would have offended me in my Christian days as blasphemy, as taking the Lord’s name in vain.

I’m grateful for this hopeful indication, though: “In my capacity as a pastor and youth counselor, I have had to repeatedly deal with the spiritual fallout from such shameful episodes.” Maybe young people are coming to value reason and evidence over authority and faith after all.

  22. Glenn said

    Okay, you got me. ;o)

  23. Confused said

Glenn, I agree. People tried to Christianize me when I was a kid, but it just made me hate religion even more. It was those people who pushed me away from religious texts and towards scientific journals. I realized there was no God on my own (without the influence of any atheists), but it’s the pseudo-Christians who pushed me away from it.

    2. You accuse (strangely) him of driving an ‘expensive luxury foreign’ car. What may I ask do you drive? Any parts of foreign make? what do you consider luxury? A/C perhaps? a radio? perhaps electric wndows?
    3. You also accuse his kids of “dressing in expensive fashions”. Perhaps you’ve heard of discount retailers (TJ Maxx, etc) — you can get expensive fashions for discount prices (that’s what I do). I *like*fashion. And I *choose* to spend my discresionary income however I wish. It’s not a *sin*…or is it?

I believe in God, but I don’t go about making up things, nor ignore evidence. But, I suppose given the list of other things you accuse PZ of, evidence isn’t something you care about either. Evilution, not funny, not even a little bit. If you’re going to attack something, at least spell it correctly. It’s evolution. And considering your amazing ability to ignore evidence, that you’ve ignored everything evolution is. Fantasy is dragons, elves, and wizards. The real world functions on the facts of evolution (yes, fact). I doubt very much you really know anything about it or science in general. Do you prefer these Bible verses to the letter A:

    Incest and family values:

“One day the older daughter said to the younger, ‘Our father is old, and there is no man around here to lie with us, as is the custom all over the earth. Let’s get our father to drink wine and then lie with him and preserve our family line through our father.’” — Genesis 19:31-38 (NIV)

There is Mrs Gaines-Crockett, weak though she is, this is her TRIUMPHANT return. I would not want to have any of the glow more rightly rewarded to her gentle countenance.

No, our task is to stay the good fight. We must dig deeper into the trenches…avoid the snaring rusty sharp barbs of the critics and race headfirst into murderous shells and the whining sting of bullets and shrapnel. We must do what we can to keep our benevolently sweet Mrs Gaines Crockett and her precious form growing inside free from those unsaved that would malign her generous charactor.

I thought this beautiful Psalm was apt…it was song by a Warrior of God

    Psalm 139:13-16
For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.

  115. Norman Sensible said

Uuuuh, you are aware that the “A” links straight through to a pro-atheism website, right?

That prominent atheist Richard Dawkins supports this campaign to have atheist sites identified with this symbol?

That this symbol is a badge of honour and pride amongst the atheist community?

That the atheists seek to have this symbol on their sites, rather than have it branded upon them?

And therefore, because they seek to display this symbol, that you have not scored any victory against them. Because they WANT this symbol, and so it serves no purpose other than to generate pride and support amongst atheists?

Somewhere, I hear a campaign backfiring against you.

Me, and my God, and my theistic beliefs, are 100% behind the atheists on this one, because they are the only ones who promote God’s most wonderous tool in creation, the glory that is the gift of evolution that the Father in heaven bestowed upon his creations on earth. Beginning with his word 15 billion years ago and culminating now, we are the end products of God’s plan for evolution, and rather than being the tools of Satan and opposing the glory of our Father in heaven and denying his awesome majesty and power, we should praise his omnipotence in creating all life on earth through his glorious plan of evolution.

So all you Satan worshipping deluded fools who do the Great Deceivers work by promoting the sin of “creationism”, you are more damned than the atheists – their sin is not to believe in God. But it is a greater sin to oppose God’s will as you do by denying his glory, his power, and his works.

Reading not only the original article but also within the comments it is seen that the purveyors of this website appear to have had a break with reality. While the APAs (American Psychological [or Psychiatrc] Association) ascribe that “deeply-held religious thought should not be held as delusional,” y’all are certainly stretching at that rule. Primarily because you are imposing religious spiritualism onto what it easily seen to be the material reality. If anyone ever needed praying for, it might be the Maker’s of this website. But then I am sure that a good god should have mercy upon those who are mentally ill, even if it appears they have done it to themselves.

  126. Aadithya Sugathan said

Firstly I’d like to apologize to anyone who may already have addressed the subjects which my comments address. To begin with I’d like to ask you, Pastor Tobin (sorry I don’t know if that’s the appropriate way to address you, please feel free to correct me), is Sam Brownback aware of this website’s existence, and if so does he endorse its views? (This is not related to any of my comments, I was just wondering).

Okay, now to my real questions. How you can accuse Pharyngula of being hateful when you accuse it of having a ‘deceitful’ and ‘vengeful’ ideology of ‘evilution’. These are after all not objective words based on facts, but words laced with opinion… perhaps with hate? Actually I should first ask are: when you say ‘evilution’ is that rhetoric or do you lack the knowledge of the correct spelling. E-v-o-l-u-t-i-o-n (Please consider my letter-by-letter spelling out of evolution as education rather than condescension).

In fact I do wonder why all the ‘righteous anger’ aimed at Atheists, because I have read that most Baptist traditions believe in the “Four Freedoms” as articulated by Baptist historian Walter B. Shurden. One of these freedoms is Religious freedom: the individual is free to choose whether to practice their religion, another religion, or no religion; Separation of church and state is often called the “civil corollary” of religious freedom. Surely Atheism falls under one of these categories?

Now I read your praise of the idea in the book ‘The Scarlet Letter’ bright red letter “A”, which a character who committed adultery is forced to wear on her dress. You believe this is an idea which should be enforced on the ’sinister’ cult of Atheists. You know, it’s a funny thing, but someone had a similar idea before. The Star of David was used by the Nazis during the Holocaust as a method of identifying Jews, either a badge or an armband. I’m afraid you are in quite dubious company.

As for your ‘victory’ in your personal ‘Scarlet Letter Campaign’, its worth noting that the idea of displaying a bright red letter ‘A’ on the website Pharyngula *unchristian words*
Finally I’d like to thank you for keeping your website open to comments, enabling the common man to respond to your views. I look forward to your reply.

    Sincerely,

    Aadithya

And it’s certainly no surprise that “Brother McGregor” just blithely ignored the point I made. Business as usual for his type. He has his fingers in his ears and is loudly shouting “I do believe in Spooks, I do I do I do believe in Spooks!” Just in case his “god” is watching.

Religion loves short-cuts — particularly those which short-circuit rational thought. They encourage this by agitating emotions, by exploiting insecurities, by capitalizing on the ambiguity of language, and by bending the rules of logic. As history shows, it can be quite successful.

Religious propaganda can be as blatant as judgment/insult or as subtle as a joke. Its persuasive techniques are regularly applied by pastors, preachers, evangelists, ministers, and others who are interested in influencing human behavior.

The name-calling technique links a person, or idea, to a negative symbol. The person who uses this technique hopes that the audience will reject the person or the idea on the basis of the negative symbol, instead of looking at the available evidence. Thus by trying to influence people to see the A as negative, it only shows how frightening the truth behind the symbol is.

How can anyone who thinks of his fellow human beings (homosexuals, lesbians, bisexuals, transgendered, handicapped people) in such a lowly manner, live with himself? How dare you assume that you are worth more than anyone else on this entire planet? Any God that’s read this article will be checking the record for the faulty equation that lead to Sam Brownback.

  180. God is nothing more than the Santa Claus for adults. The only reason anyone claims that evolution is not a FACT is because they refuse to read, or to learn. They’re stuck in their first-century, barbaric thought processes. You may claim that there is no proof of evolution, but that’s because you’ve already decided that you refuse to accept it, no matter what evidence may be put forth.

And that is nothing but narrow-mindedness. I don’t “believe in” evolution. I KNOW that all living things on this planet consist of DNA, and the only thing that makes a person different from a tree is how the molecules are arranged in their DNA. This is provable; demonstrable.

There is nothing that makes the Bible provable. In fact, if you haven’t read Thomas Paine’s “The Age Of Reason,” you are deceiving yourself that the Bible is factual in any way, shape, or form.

But then again, the very fact that people are still, today, having this argument is because facts are not stressed as much as faith. In fact, the more evidence there is against something, the more revered the faithful are perceived to be… to believe in something that has absolutely no basis in fact is something to be honored. In the religious realm, these are the “wise men.” People who believe in something because there is absolutely no reason to, other than because they “have faith.”

This is the sad part, that ignorance is something to strive for.

The only thing that bothers me more is the fact that the religious feel that it’s their DUTY to spread ignorance. To present their ideas and faith as FACT. Religion and beliefs don’t enter the world of FACTS. That’s why “Faith” is required. Because there’s no evidence to support the belief. I don’t have faith in gravity. I know it is true because it demonstrates itself. I don’t have faith in the multiplication table… 2×2 always equals 4. BUT… one would need to have faith that Jesus rose from the dead because there is absolutely no evidence whatsoever to support a wild claim like that. No one has EVER risen from the dead.

What is more believable? That the natural order of things was suspended, that one time a person long, long ago came back to life? Or… that a few people told a lie and many believed it?

Lot was beyond noticing when his elder daughter arrived in his bed or when she left, but he was not too drunk to impregnate her. The next night the two daughters agreed it was the younger one’s turn. Though he confessed to the rabbis and priests who came to congratulate him on his discovery of God that he was convinced God brought the universe into existence and was intelligent and creative, he denied that God was personal.

Of course, those clergy had a stock response to Einstein’s denial. How can a Being who is intelligent and creative not also be personal? Einstein brushed past their objections, a valid one, by raising the paradox of God’s omnipotence and man’s responsibility for his choices:

“If this being is omnipotent then every occurrence, including every human action, every human thought, and every human feeling and aspiration is also His work; how is it possible to think of holding men responsible for their deeds and thoughts before such an almighty Being? In giving out punishment and rewards He would to a certain extent be passing judgment on Himself. How can this be combined with the goodness and righteousness ascribed to Him?”

None of the clergy Einstein encountered ever gave him a satisfactory answer to his objection. Typically, they responded by saying that God has not yet revealed the answer. They encouraged him to endure patiently and blindly trust the All-Knowing One.

Regrettably, Einstein lacked the persistence to purse an answer further. He took for granted the biblical knowledge of these religious professionals and assumed that the Bible failed to adequately address this crucially important issue. Of what value, then, could such a “revelation” be?

Lacking a solution to the paradox of God’s predestination and human beings free choice, Einstein, like many other powerful intellects through the centuries, ruled out the existence of a personal God. Nevertheless, and to his credit, Einstein held unswervingly, against enormous peer pressure, to a belief in a Creator.

Hawkins was raised by communist parents so it is quite likely that had a lot to do with his disbelief in any Deity.

The fact remains though…this doesn’t mean God does not exist.

    Brother Mc,
Apart from Von Braun, your list of eminent scientist believers includes no-one born in the last century.

Does this mean that there are no eminent scientists of this day and age? Or is it a little harder to cherry pick religious poster boys now that apostasy is no longer considered a capital crime or at least in these enlightened times it is harder for the pious to persecute doubters so freely?

Did you know that Newton was a secret heretic who denied the godhead of Christ as well as a practitioner of ‘Magick’ and alchemy?

I’m not in the habit of putting words into the mouths of dead men, but I have little doubt that if Herschel, Kepler, Faraday, Kelvin et al had access to the data and knowledge (that they helped build) that we do now I would bet you a stack of bibles that none would believe in a literal interpretation of scripture, as you suggest in the tailings from your quote mine.

Also, I wonder why my second post did not have the same words (and entire phrases) deleted as the first – especially as you claim you have no moderation rights?

For the record, I do believe in God., just not your hateful, ignorant, hypocritical version.

Nope…it is not my fault if a lot of modern scientists do not want to be considered Christian. No doubt they would be scorned by their peers. Now if we are to considered medical doctors as practitioners of certain kinds of science…then I know a lot of medical doctors who believe in the Almighty. This incidentally would include Psychiatrists.

So if you don’t agree with us why do you persist in hanging around here? Your inane trolling isn’t going to suddenly change my mind. I certainly don’t feel you are going to change yours.
you’re not here to try and learn…you’re here to fight. Not going to happen.
The only reason any of you is here is because you don’t feel we have the right to feel as we do.
We are not over in the gay.com chat rooms. We are not in the abortion forums. We could be. We could go in there and raise a little noise.
Mostly I think that would defeat the purpose…people when attacked for what they believe in get their backs up.
I tell you like I see it and maybe you think ‘well maybe he has a point’ or maybe you think..’ah the guy’s barmy’
You know the more things change…well the more they stay the same.

  197. SPOILER said

    Brother McGregor,

It seems to me you did suddenly change your mind last week. If I remember correctly (and I might not), you came here in defense of your kilt, saying many of the same things that “we” are saying now. Then, all of a sudden, you “converted” and began preaching the same hate-filled vitriol that the members of this site have been propagating since the beginning.

The reason that we are here is because it’s wrong not to argue against people who believe that cursing people to hell for disagreeing with them is the right thing to do. A lot of the things that are said here are allegedly said in God’s name, and I think that it’s important for anyone who hears about this site through the media to come here and know that clearly, not everyone agrees with you. I’m not attacking you for what you believe in; I may pity you for your closemindedness and feel sorry for children who are brought up in that kind of atmosphere, but mostly, I want anyone who comes here to know that THIS ISN’T A TRUE CHRISTIAN SITE.

    Jesus = God

    God = Love

    Therefore,

    JESUS = LOVE

“Love thy neighbor as thyself.” “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”

  198. Personally, I believe McGregor to be parodci.

Also, you might find John 1:1, 1 John 4:16-18, and Mark 12:31 handy in your quest to persuade them.

  199. We are not over in the gay.com chat rooms. We are not in the abortion forums. We could be. We could go in there and raise a little noise.

I’m not in either, but if you would come and ‘raise a little noise’ over at rationalwiki.com (follow the link in my username), we would be very glad.

I question what people write here – that doesn’t make me a “raving lunatic.” If we do wind up repeating the same questions, it’s because they don’t get answered, because there really is no logical, or even biblical, explanation for many of the things that you seem to think and say. The God of the Old Testament seems to behave differently than the God of the New Testament. As Christians, we should be believing that the New Testament is the True Message, and as such, should be followed. Jesus’ Word was LOVE. Not “an eye for an eye,” but “Judge not, lest ye be judged.” The Bible is full of symbolism, and it was written by MEN, and that needs to be understood. When it is taken literally, it can be the most dangerous book in the world.

Also, it appears that we do not live in the same time zone, so I was unaware of the time constraints you were facing. If that is so, then I apologize for making a point of calling you out. Won’t happen again.

You said “When Liberals like yourself, the ACLU, and atheists who hate our right to worship openly try and steal our constitutional rights from us. No one forces you to worship but you blame sure want to take away my right to do it.”

No one from the ACLU, etc. has ever tried to stop any Church or Synagogue or Mosque from holding services in their place of worship. In general, what we object to is religious biggots who try to turn our non-religious governmental agencies, like schools, like courthouses, like parks, which are supposed to be places for EVERYONE, into religious shrines to your one “true” religion. (Which version of Baptist is the ‘true’ one? A simple Google search finds over 100 denominations.)

That’s the kind of dogma our founding fathers escaped by leaving Europe. That’s why they ensrined the separation of Church and State in the First Amendment. Freedom of religion also means freedom FROM state-sponsored religion. Most of our founding fathers were religious men, but they specifically and intentionally avoided defining a state church so that all beliefs – including non-belief – could be freely exercised.

You also said: “The only hate and lies I see is coming from your side of the fence. Why don’t you just go back to where you belong and leave us alone. ”

I didn’t start this by spreading hateful lies about PZ Meyers – you did.

And where is it that I “belong”? I will be happy to “leave you alone” if you stop trying to enforce your “we are a Christian Nation” theocracy on me and everyone else.

Just as your freedom to swing your arm stops at my nose, your freedom to preach stops at my door. And my door (and yours) includes the public schools our childern attend, the public parks where our grandchildren play, and the courthouses where you and I pay our taxes and stand before justice. Nobody is stopping you or your followers from praying (quietly, as Jesus says), but we do draw the line at turning this free nation into a theocracy controlled by such narrow-minded people as “Pastor” Maker.

    Liberalpercy,

You are wrong on several points. You will find no “Golden Rule” in The Bible. I see a lot of you sinners going about “love thy neighbor” from Mark 22:39; Jesus is quoting in Leviticus 19:18 that makes it very clear that “neighbor” is your’ fellow co-religionists. Basically we Christians are under no obligation to love you atheists. I have idea were you get your basic Bible lesson from, the one I get is mankind is utterly evil and will be destroyed if we don’t obey God.

  251. sp0iler said

Man was created in the image and likeness of God. that is the one lesson from elementary school that has stuck with me. Also, God loves us and doesn’t want to see us destroyed. Believing in Him, in any form, and following His word when it comes to loving your neighbor, is about all we can do in this life. Jesus was also telling His followers to love the Romans. He forgave them for taking His life, which means that His love extends to everyone.

How people can pervert a message of pure love is beyond me.

  252. sp0iler said

    And again,

Tobin is afraid to respond. Seriously, if you truly believe what you’re posting, you shouldn’t be afraid to back it up.

  253. liberalpercy said

BJ – your rather narrow interpretation of what is euphemistically called the Golden Rule turns most of Christ’s teachings into closed-door rules. Does that apply to “turn the other cheek” as well?

Ah well, never argue with a cultist. They’re much like the Ministry of Truth in 1984. The “Truth” is whatever you need it to be at the moment.

  254. sp0iler said

    Percy,

I believe “truthiness” is the concept to which you are referring…

  255. liberalpercy said

BJ – one more. Does that mean you also only have to tell the truth to other Christians? It’s OK to lie to everyone else?

Wait – that can’t be true. The Ten Commandments came before Christ. So it must be only Jews who have to tell the truth to other Jews. Right?

See how silly such arguments become when you try to justify your own hippocrisy by the very human interpretation of what is supposed to be God’s word.

  256. Big E said

    re: BJ Tabor
“Basically we Christians are under no obligation to love you atheists”

    A refreshing moment of candor.

This brings up the point of how varied analysis of scripture and it’s meaning can be depending on one’s particular denomination and beliefs.

In a quick perusal of some Bible study sites on Christian values I found the following
description which seems to describe the opposite of what BJ Tabor says:”In His Parable of the Good Samaritan, Jesus made the point that we should extend our Christian love to all people of the world, regardless of race, religion, nationality or any other artificial distinction. We must practice that Christian love even toward our enemies!” (Matthew 5:43-48)
    Now of course, one can argue the semantics of of BJ’s use of “obligation”, but the passage does seem to differ with his view. Of course, someone can offer another analysis of the meaning. {which again would make the point}
[BTW: this was found on http://www.twopaths.com/faq_ChristianValues.htm

    Another quote says:
“We often think of morality in terms of sexual sins, but according to Jesus, sins such as slander, greed, deceit, and arrogance are equally immoral.”
Without trying to generalize too much, slander, greed, deceit, and arrogance aptly describe the vast majority of public figures I see and hear who claim religious superiority.

To see how far gone some advocates of Baptism in particular can go, one needs only
to go over to Westboro Baptist Church online: http://www.godhatesfags.com and examine the website. Is Westboro part of mainstream Baptists, maybe, maybe not, but, all religious views are held and justified by the ‘faithful’.

Most religions and political doctrine say that their specific belief is the ‘one true’ belief.
This kind of ‘blind faith’ has, in today’s world and also throughout history has led to some of some of the most terrible periods of mayhem, torture and death.

Give me an educated, clear thinking populace, and I’ll take my chances.
If a person wants to add religion to their life, that’s up to them but
don’t try and regulate my life with your religious dogma.
Scarlet letter ‘A’s and blind faith are not for me.

    A Prayer for This Evening

Lord, since your vessel Pastor Maker is mocked by the Unrighteous, I offer a General Prayer for the Evening that sums up not only our trials of the last few days but our many victories and our chances to show Christian fortitude in the face of the Unsaved.

Lord, in JESUS name, there is somewhat of a list tonight.

    1. For Mother
I pray as always for Mother, that your ease her burden of age.

    2. For The Scots PeopIe
And especially for Brother McGregor as he struggles mightily for YET ANOTHER DAY with the slings and arrows of his less educated co-ethnicists who are BLINDED by their history of pagan idolatry, who were connived against and confounded in their early and unsophisticated days by Papist Liars. Who were then again lied to (under Papist French influence) by the Perverts and Whoremongers of the Stewart Clan falsely wearing the Crown of Britain, ripped from the Blessed Virgin Queen Elizabeth! Oh Lord, the Scots are a people sore abused and who have been led by vile and self-serving men such as Robert the Bruce. Lord, they do not see that the tartan ties them to The Deceiver and is manifest in these latter days just prior to the Rapture by the JCM (Jewish Controlled Media) to aid in the feminization of America. Oh bless Brother McGregor, your servant and warrior armed with your holy word. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. Halleylooyah!

    3. For Anderson Cooper
Lord, I also ask a special personal prayer that you aid Brother Anderson Cooper of the Cable News Network of Atlanta Georgia USA in his struggles against malignant narcissism and the allure of the man-skirt. I know he struggles, Lord. I see it in his eyes in every moment of his broadcast! Bless hiim Lord, and remember how he walked in the Valley of Death and danger in filth and feces after Hurricane Katrina, handsomely clad none-the-less, up to his thighs in filthy water full of the corpses of the Children of Ham! He did this to encourage charity Lord, so please give him strength in his struggle! Give him strengtrh Lord.

    4. For Sister TDGC
Also, Lord, help Sister TDGC in her recent real estate venture because you reward your people who are just with triumph and prosperity ABUNDANT! Glory!

    5. For Spoiler’s husband. Lord, I pray for this man that he put his foot down, stop washing dishes and sharing the computer with is wife and resist this bold WOMAN’S attempts to clad him in the kilt.

6.. For Sister Lynelle and her work in the USE Ministry, especially the Prison component. Strength to her Lord. Glory! Hope too that Spoiler sees what a REAL Godly woman is like.

    7. For Dirty Atheist Aaron, that he cleanse himself as I taught the young sailors to do when I was the enlisted hygenic officer.

    8. For the innocent young male Gentile babies, that they escape the genital mutilation forced on America by Jewish Doctors after 1945. While they have their motives that are understandable, it is time to stop this hateful practice which serves only to erase the most immediate and visible differeence Jew from Gentile.

    In Jesus Name we Pray

    AMEN

Our tiny country of Scotland has certainly been brutalised by invading army after army. The Romans were one of the first, built a wall to keep us in the highlands (Hadrian’s Wall). Should you ever get a chance to holiday, you should go and see it.
The scot are a nation of jutes, picts, caledonian, and scots. No one really knows who the first people but it is thought that Scotland was first inhabited around 7000BC. We even have our own versions of Stonehenge…ring of Brogar. Others such as the standing stones of Calanais (Callanish) on the Isle of Lewis, date to 3,000 BC. I think the most amazing henge is at Maes Howe in Orkney.
Had we been left alone to find our own way…I am sure we would have gone the strict route of the protestant religions rather than the forced Catholicism we had to endure. It kept us soft in many ways and now the country like England, Ireland and Wales is rent with gangs and lawlessness nad permissiveness. We used to be known as dour and obedient.

Pastor Tobin – You seem to have trouble spelling the word “evolution” ( via Natural Selection) there is no “I” in it, it’s a very simple and beautiful concept and it does explain a great deal about the complexity of organisms we see around us today, using this process we can determine that complexity arises from simple beginings, which however unsettling this may be for you and your fellow faithful, does question the existance of a creator, after all we would then be required to explain who created the creator ad infinitum, envoking a god or gods actually poses more questions than it answers.

You are obviously an intelligent person and I wonder how you can refute the theory (Evolution via the process of Natural Selection) and explain how antibiotic resitant strains of bacteria ( C-Diff,MRSA etc) devolop these resistances if they have not “evolved” to do so via this process?

    Thank you.

It’s such a sad consideration of life, to believe the amazing beauty and complexity of life has to be lived in such a wasted non-creative lifestyle of constant bickering and self-righteous “prayers” to give glory to yourself, even when you don’t realize it. If there is a God, surely It would be laughing right about now.

  279. Dear Ebert,

You are right about one thing, God is laughing, at you. He is laughing right now as He thinks of just when and how He will sneak up behind you like a thief in the night to cast you into Hell to be punished for all eternity. He may be a vengeful God but He also has a since of humor too. He allowed Liberals, did He not, so He must enjoy a big joke occasionally?

    Oh, right. An imaginary one.

    Pastor Maker,

You say you are proud to be a descendant ot the fictional Adam and Eve – created at the whim of your God. Which also means you can be wiped away by the whim of your God, and your descendants will never grow and evolve into anything better than you are today. What a small and sad point of view that is.

I, however, am proud to be a descendent of several Billion years of evolution – of life – always growing, changing, evolving. I am proud that after Billions of years, I can look up at stars and see light that began its journey to the Earth before humanity, before mamals, before life itself was here to sense those photons.

I can also observe and understand the universe, develop the science to observe phenomena my natural “God-given” senses cannot comprehend, from sub-atomic particles to quasars. I can understand biology to the point where medicines can be developed to heal the sick scientifically, rather than by superstition. I can scientifically “evolve” grains and livestock to feed more of the poor and hungry.

I think it is so much more remarkable that we, and every species that shares the Earth with us, are the product of billions of years of natural selection, than that we are the here because some invisible cloud being decided to whip us up out of some dust.

Assuming that humanity survives the coming Global Warming crisis and whatever other dangers may come our way, I wonder what our descendants will be like a million years, a hundred million years from now. You don’t “believe” in the fact of evolution, so you think humanity will be no different. I believe we have only just begun our evolution into ever-more wonderful human beings.

So – you and Sen. Brownback and your cadre of superstitious bible-thumpers can stay stuck in the 19th century. The rest of humanity will get along just fine without you.

This first one I reference is interesting, as I don’t believe one can find the study of the ozone layer or even the word ‘ozone’ mentioned in the bible, and yet the website owner uses dastardly SCIENCE to ‘disprove’ global warming.

” Never mind that the same ozone patterns have been around since anybody started looking.” ……………………………………………(who exactly are those ‘anybodies?)

“The Earth is not rotating…nor is it going around the sun.”I

“the diligent reader will be astonished at the level of demonstrable hi-tech fraud, baseless assumptions, occult mathematics, etc.,–all part of a religious conspiracy!–that has been at work over many centuries implanting the incredible evolution myth about the origin of the Universe, the Earth, and Mankind.”….. ( re: occult mathmatics. see below)

As the world of sovereign nation states morphs into a global economic, cultural, and soon-to-be political and religious system, the long-hidden chief goal behind all of it comes into focus. That over-riding goal, that long-sought but now achievable political triumph over nation states is, above all else, religious. And not just religious, as we shall see, but specifically anti-Bible, anti-Christian religious. In point of fact:

“A converted Russian nihilist, Ivan Panin, graduated from Harvard in 1882 as a mathematician. He then spent 50 years (wow!) on deciphering the mind-blowing mathematical structure of the Bible from the first word to the last. Since every letter in every word of the Hebrew and Greek manuscripts also has a numerical equivalent, every letter, word, phrase, sentence, paragraph, and even every subject has a definite arithmetical sum.

What follows is a severely abbreviated example of the kinds of phenomena Dr. Panin discovered when working with those numerical equivalents…regardless of whether they pertained to a given subject such as the genealogy of Christ, or a book of the Bible, or the Bible in its entirety. Marvel at each of these as you read:”

“The number of words in the vocabulary will divide by the number seven.
The number of words beginning with a vowel is divisible by seven.
The number of words beginning with a consonant is divisible by seven.

Having explained the function of numeric and place values in the Hebrew and Greek languages in Scripture, it is noted by way of example that the value of the word “Jesus” in Greek is 975, of which the numeric value is 888, and the place value is 87. These features produced these astonishing results in addition to the previous examples:”

What more “proof” is need to explain away all that silly science?

There are volumes of great reading material at the website.

You don’t seem to have a very high opinion of women…
maybe you have issues with smart, free and independent thinking women…
….do you feel threatened by women?

I’ve always been amazed how the ‘religious’ types cloister themselves
away from any real discussion of their beliefs…. they run away so
quickly that one has to resort to sarcasm just to get a response, or,
in the case of the neo-con/republican/evangelical types, they have ‘pubic forums’
with select invited patrons that will not ask any thinking questions.

Most of the folks I know who actually worship and practice their beliefs
are always glad to sit and chat about belief systems… they do not hide
behind the easy ‘it’s in the bible’, ‘you don’t have the true faith’, or ‘trust in the lord’ panoplies. Their faith doesn’t prevent an engaging ‘give and take’ discussion.

It’s sort of like what happened in battle over Creationism in Dover PA public school
system. A bunch of evangelical types somehow got themselves elected to the school board and the first thing they do….. is start teaching the bible in the public schools, and claim it’s science!!!.
Of course eventually that was ruled unconstitutional….. by a judge who is a republican and a man of faith.

Brownback and 2 others running on the republican/christian/evangelical platform don’t believe in EVOLUTION, and who knows what other parts of science.

Didn’t hear the good christian choir issuing any disclaimers to the effect
murder is not exactly a ‘good christian’ thing to do. Or the other types who were

Same old story down through the ages…. using the justification for ‘killing for god’, so you can maintain some sort of political and economic control.

yep…everybody sing ” gimme dat ol’ time religion”

The Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka, Kan., plans to stage protests at funerals of victims of the 35W bridge collapse to state that God made the bridge fall because he hates America, and especially Minnesota, because of its tolerance of homosexuality.

The church and its pastor, the Rev. Fred Phelps, have become notorious over recent years for their claim that the attack of 9/11 was an act of God’s vengeance and their determination to make that case at the funerals of U.S. soldiers who died in Iraq.

In a press release issued the day after the bridge collapse, the church called for protests at the funerals and outlined its feelings about the relationship between God’s plan and the sins of Minneapolis and Minnesota, which it calls the “land of the Sodomite damned.”

Reached at the church, Shirley Phelps Roper, who is both the daughter of the pastor and one of the attorneys for the church, said that America, and Minnesota especially, have alienated God by its tolerance for homosexuality, and that the bridge collapse was an act of God’s vengeance. She said:

“The bridge stood in place by the word of God and it fell by the word of God…Each of these little events is just a harbinger of the coming destruction of this American experiment. We are delivering the final call of the doomed nation.”

The signs that the protesters will wave will read:
“God cast down the bridge… Thank God for 9/11… America is doomed… God hates fags… God hates fag enablers… God hates Minnesota.”

There is a militant language that gives away that this site is either (1) meant to *profanity deleted* the Christian right by *profanity deleted*, or (2) that this site is run by genuine Christian extremists on the verge of the use of violence. 345. In case it has not been posted in the replies here yet, here is the evidence that the good pastor Tobin Maker is a ***UNChristian Word Removed*** . Here is a link to the post by PZ Meyers on why he put the “Scarlet Letter A” on his blog, http://scienceblogs.com/pharyngula/2007/07/come_out.php

As one can see, he chose to put that logo there to promote an Atheist Coming Out campaign hosted by Richard Dawkins. It is a campaign intended to be a rallying point for atheists to not feel so alone, not, as the good pastor states, “After two days of intensive lobbying by Mrs. T.D. Gaines-Crockett, Lynelle Bryant and myself, the “Science Blogs” community, which hosts Pharyngula, has agreed to place a scarlet “A” on the left-hand sidebar of the blog.” This is his first – and primary lie – in this post.

Here is the link that is attached to the A logo that describes the “Coming Out” campaign it is designed to promote.
    http://outcampaign.org/

As for the other claims in this posting, “Myers lives a life of luxury at taxpayers’ expense—taking long vacations with his trophy wife, driving expensive foreign cars, dressing his children in exclusive fashions.” I’d ask the good pastor to support these claims with solid evidence or concede that these claims too are lies; that, in fact, he has no idea if PZ’s wife is a “trophy,” etc.

If the good pastor Maker lied about this, what else might he be lying about?

Pastor Maker, is it typical MO for you to lie like this to promote your point of view? Is you POV so weak that you have to make up complete***UNChristian Word Removed*** . such as this post in order to promote your hatred?

I’d like to correct a mischaracterization here. The owner of Pharyngula is anti-supernatural beliefs rather than anti-Christian. It is his sincere conviction that it is bad for the intellect and our country to promote any supernatural theory – Christianity, Islam, astrology, etc. He is particularly concerned that supernatural beliefs of Christians are affecting decisions made by the US government despite the fact that all Americans do not hold supernatural beliefs. I have no problem with my friends who hold supernatural beliefs but I chose to limit my friendships to people who are not advocates of forcing their supernatural beliefs on my either socially or via our government.

certain religious types found across the good ol’ USA

at the minimum,.. now Pastor Tobin and his posse can
book reservations for some real summer fun.
Just remember… “Everyone loves a parade,”

GRAND PLAINS, NE—A tight-knit rural Midwestern farming community commemorated the demonization of homosexuality Sunday with its annual Gay Shame Parade, a three-decade-old tradition that has become a cornerstone of the town’s cultural identity.

“Every year, the whole town turns out to enjoy Nebraska’s famous summer sunshine, sample foods, browse the craft bazaar, and shame homosexuals for their repulsive, decadent behavior,” said Frank Mitchell, mayor of Grand Plains, NE and parade marshal. “This year was our biggest turnout yet. Everybody had so much fun ostracizing the gays.”

The parade featured the usual assemblage of police cruisers, fire trucks, antique cars, and farm equipment, which local residents had draped in red-white-and-blue banners that read “Burn in the Eternal Flames of Hell!” City Councilman Fred Brandeen, this year’s “Jesus,” entertained children by making mock finger-wagging gestures of admonishment and passing out buttons bearing the parade’s traditional slogan: “NO!” Members of the Grand Plains Area Wives Association followed behind with a 15-foot hand-sewn banner, cosponsored by Jerry’s Auto Body, which read: “GPAWA and Jerry’s Cringe To Think What You’re Putting Your Family Through.”

Organized every year by the Grand Plains City Council and a coalition of area churches, the Gay Shame Parade has been an annual event here since 1977, the year that citizens first became aware of gay people’s existence.

“To see a whole community rally together like this around a good cause—it’s really an inspiration,” said Ellen Lundblom, a mother of four enjoying the festivities with her youngest son, first-time reveler Timmy, 3. “If I were a lesbian, this would have really made me feel awful about myself.”

“My favorite part was the balloons,” Timmy Lundblom said. “They had all different colors of angry frowny-faces on them.”

The event got off to a rousing start with the Grand Plains High School Cougars marching band playing such classics as “The Star-Spangled Banner” and “Onward, Christian Soldiers.” The mood grew palpably more sober during the middle portion of the procession, as members of the Grand Plains Baptist Church marched with folded arms in stony, judgmental silence and stared at the spectators lining the streets as if to ask, “Are you gay?”

The spirit of levity returned, however, toward the parade’s finish, which featured balloon giveaways, a float contest, and an appearance by 6-year-olds Christopher Weiland and Courtney Wendt, who were crowned “Junior Mister and Miss Heterosexual” on Saturday. The parade concluded with a group reading of Leviticus 20:13.

After the last bit of confetti fell, spectators praised the parade’s highlights, including a float, presented by local Little League team the Tigers that depicts a mother, sitting alone with her head down on a kitchen table, crying. The first-place ribbon went to “Sodom and Gomorrah,” a miniature version of the two Biblical cities engulfed in flames. The float’s designer, McPhee’s Department Store window dresser Bruce Carlson, was not able to accept his prize, however, as he was away visiting an aunt in Lawrence, KS for the weekend.

Despite the pageantry, parade organizers stressed that the event has a serious message.

“Everyone loves a parade,” PTA chairwoman Agatha Buell said. “But it’s about a lot more than the clowns, the decorations, and those Shriner fellows in their tiny cars. It’s about making folks feel sickened by the deviant homosexual lifestyle, like God wants us to.”

Spectators couldn’t help but be delighted by the parade’s surprise finale, when, after dutifully leading the marching band for the entire mile-long parade route, local music teacher Colin Atherton was marched past the county line and told never, ever to return.

We atheists do not require any priests, or any hierarchy above them, to police our doctrine. sacrifices and ceremonies are abhorrent to us, as are relics and the worship of any images or objects.

To us, no spot on earth is or could be, “holier” than another: to the ostentatious absurdity of the pilgramage, or the plain horror of killing civilians in the name of some sacred wall or cave or shrine or rock……. Religion spoke its last intelligible or noble or inspiring words a long time ago: either that or it mutated into an admirable but nebulous humanism, as did, say, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, a brave Lutheran pastor hanged by the Nazisfor his refusal to collude with them.

We shall have no more prophets or sages from the ancient quarter, which is why the devotions of today are only the echoing repetitions of yesterday, sometimes ratcheted up to screaming point so as to ward off the terrible emptiness.”

Now, THAT is my proof, however, I am not foolish enough to say the earth was made in six days (whose days? Ours or Gods? hmmmmmmmm) or other obvious nonsense.. It is about your relationship with your maker/saviour, and how you treat OTHERS.

  389. Dear Sister Mabel HAHA….yes I can imagine! Aunty Hattie was a gin imbibing woman who always a bit of a cut up in her youth (So I have been told) She married into the family and was originally of Irish stock.
During the twenties when she was a young gal she developed an obsession with “bloomers” (the short version of trousers-not the under apparel) and badminton of all things. She was also a twin (Mattie-predeceased her during London Blitz). She was always flitting about with a darn racket in her hand and begged her mother to make her pair after pair of bloomers when each pair wore out.

Hattie suffered an injury in her early childhood. She did return home one day from the playground covered in blood from a nasty wound she had received from playing beneath a see-saw (teeter totter I believe the Americans call them). Some Nasty boy came along and pushed the one side up fast and the other side came down on her noggin poor thing.
The family consensus was: she was never quite the same after that. Of course we now know about organic brain syndrome and other injuries to the brain.

Well long story short, she liked the booze and swore like a sailor…Heavens to think what brother Vancy would do if he ever met her….probably faint dead away (He is so sensitive you know)

Sir, “John Brown” is back in the closet, where he belongs. He is – how can I put this? – quite insane.
Allow me to apologize deeply, humbly and sincerely to all on this list, and assure you that, unlike him, as an ex-military man, I am in possession of my facilities. In fact, even now, as I type this single-handedly, I have a firm and full grasp on my Manhood.
I have killed many in the Name of Our Bloody, Tortured and Transmogrified Jesus, but not out of some wanton bloodlust…nay, only because Our God is Bigger and Better than theirs and all others, a Real God, not a false idol.
In the case of the small, young vermin, was I not doing them – and us – a favor? Otherwise they may have grown to perpetuate some disastrous deed on America. And in the instance of the female vermin, who is to say what evil progeny they could have spawned at some unspecified date in the future? And what it possibly could do to us, maybe? Who knows?
Only be exterminating all those not Chosen to be Exactly Like Us can we be Truly Saved. Yea, verily I say unto “Big E:” You have forsook yourself and are on the road to failure. This is America…love it or leave it. Perhaps you should move over there with the rest of the scum before we nuke the entire Mideast, and you will then be fried to a tender doneness that will rival the Succubus Bird of Sa-tan, only to become fertilizer in God’s Great Plan for Us, His Chosen People (He really meant Us, you know, not the Jews). And by “Us,” I mean the U.S., Yes Sir, the good ol’ U.S. of A., the white Evangelical born-again part. At least that’s what I was taught in the military, where our movements have become quite regular.
Oh yeah, and vote for Tancredo. He – or someone like him – is what we’ve been waiting for all our miserable lives. “Big E” is a liberal, do-gooder idealist. God’s Chosen Ones are realists: we learned long ago that this world is so sinful and fetid, there’s no sense even trying to improve or change anything. 403. Maj. Batguano (ret.) said

Adam Nelson congraduates me because to him, I represent everything that is wrong with America. Well, before gratulating from Military Academy, we were taught that Hiroshima was necessary to end WWII and save lives. The reasons for Nagasaki were not as clear, but one motive was that we had a vested interest in seeing if a different, untested A-bomb design actually worked.
It has come to my attention that the Nagasaki bomb was the same design as the one tested earlier that July in the New Mexican desert. The first Hiroshima bomb was the untested design – considered very likely to work because it was considerably simpler than the implosion model. It could not be tested because there was only enough uranium-235 for one bomb. The second bomb, dropped on Nagasaki, Japan, on August 9, was a plutonium bomb of the type tested at Trinity.
So much for the excuse that the reason for Nagasaki was to test a different model. It’s just as simple and realistic as this: we had it, so we used it on the slant-eyed guinea pigs who just happened to constitute the largest Japanese Christian population at the time – don’t worry, they weren’t OUR kind of Christians – to send a clear warning message to certain somebodies who were getting too big for their dirty Commie britches!
More importantly, imagine what Congress would have said if they found out we spent all that money on something and then never even blew it up? The political aftershocks would have devasting to God’s Army. Sweet Jesus forbid that now in our modren time we wouldn’t be sitting on stockpiles capable of repeating the destruction at Hiroshima 400,000 times over.
Anyway, to make my point: we need someone like Tancredo, who is willing – no, eager – to use some of this Holy HellFire that Jesus in his Infinite Wisdom made sure to give us first before the Krauts or the filthy Reds!
    Proud to be an American…

That is THE single biggest waste of money ever.

Which of these is true can only be answered by Adam and God.

  419. Maj. Batguano (ret.) said

Well, it seems I have some ’splainin’ to do.
First, I have a sneaky suspicion that some of the comments posted here are inSINcere. Particularly in the case of “Big E,” I’m beginning to think that sometimes he’s being downright sartorial. For instance, when he mentions the Tur-Ks, well let me tell you Sir, I’ve been all over the Greater Kingdom of David (whey’re the Truly Saved are all gonna live in piece someday for 100 years) and while the Tur-Ks aren’t as stinky as those A-rab bastards, they ain’t no prize neither. Also, watch it with those vocadans and the libations you like to sample at fine establishments…oh, and Ohnedaruth…even the drummer of the POlice knows it is an ABOMINATION for someone to sing “A Love Supreme” who’s not white and used to be a junkie.
B.) I got a problem with Brother Yancy (or VIC, whatever) calling Tancredo a “Oily Pizza Eater.” My name ends in a vowel, Sir: it’s pronounced Baht-GOO-ah-No. So watch out who you’re calling an Oily Pizza Eater…they may just be one too.
Third, Adam Nelson seems to think “Jesus is about love and tolerance.” Well, not the Saved’s Jesus: No Sir, my Jesus is the vengeful, wrathful Old-Testament Jesus, as I was learned by my own father who beat the Love of the Lamb into me, and then at Bible School, and then of course later at Boot Camp in the Military. And he was a MASCULINE…not the liberal vision of a hippie, peacenick Savior. No, my Redeemer is a REAL MAN, which is why I spent my life to doing manly things with other manly men. I HAVE SINNED, BUT I HAVE BEEN REDEEMED IN THE THIRST-QUENCHING BLOOD OF THE CHRIST, Sir…doesn’t that mean ANYTHING to you?

Finally (D.), “In His Grace” axed me if the Lord would take up the cause of a “nation not 100% Christian…” and does “percentage count in who He decides to be with?” Good question, and I done give it a lots of thought.
I seen it over and over agin…football teams a losin’ cuz they weren’t 100%, no matter how hard we impeached the Lord to declare our side victorius. Does the percantage count? You betcha. If I had my druthers, I’d figure out a way to slam-dunk this whole country underwater and Baptize it in the Holy Name of Jesus, weather they wanted to or not. Them heathens and floral arrangers and choreographers and other homoes wouldn’t have a choice then weather or not to be Saved, now would they.
And then the good ol’ U.S. and A. would be 100%.
If I could figger out a way to do that, which I just now have received as my life’s calling and part of His Grand Scheme of Things, my job would be done here, finally, and In His Mercifulness.

It is truly a shame that you and others were not able to use that prescient awareness
of ’signs’ and ‘clues’ to rescue all the children from the pedophile Priests, Revs., and other false prophets.

But I guess those are sins are not to be seen as they are committed by ‘men of the cloth’.
[ regardless of how easy that cloth seems to come off when little children are involved ]
crimes hidden by church elders and administrators,
and, you would have saved the Church over 600 million dollars in restitution and legal fees..
    …….. but really…

Your collective interest in certain, …..ah, ….shall we say… aspects.. …of the gay life style is quite illuminating. Perhaps you travel the path of Rev. Haggard and just don’t know it yet.
Difficult for me to ascertain these things from random postings to a blog.., as I don’t have your insight into ‘clues’ and things that are ‘beyond that which could be considered natural’.

And lastly, to Maj. Batguano (ret.)
well Sir, I cannot know or vouch for your military bona fides…
but as to ‘Police drummers’? I have seen parades where Police have marched with drums and drummers, and it was quite a wonderful experience … and Sir, I don’t need you to advise me on how I conduct myself sampling the ‘fine fare’ of any establishment..thank you.!!
For all I know, you are the kind of person that eats half a sandwich at a roadside restaurant, and then takes it back expecting a new whole one, claiming that original wasn’t what you ordered.

  421. Maj. Batguano (ret.) said

Big E. has some insight let me tell you all. I confess it is true, I have indeed eaten half a sandwitch at a roadside restaurant, and then realized it was not hole, and taken it back demanding a new one of what I originally ordered. But that is only because I have a BIG MOUTH, and one bite – which is what it took to realize the sandwich was defective – was half the sandwitch. Which brings me to my point today:
I speak and write from my gut feelings, and I don’t put much thought into it at all. So regarding my comments about the TurKs, as long as they stayed out of my way, didn’t try to talk to me and in fact didn’t even look me directly in the eyes – I can’t abide anyone looking directly into my eyes, that’s a sure sign of hostel agression at me – we got along just fine, thank you very much. The best thing I can say is they make really good simboles over there, or at least I’ve been told by drummers in the Core.
And as far as my view of today’s unfolding events fulfilling the profeces of the Holy Word of the Bible, which I haven’t really read, but had it learned to me by Commanding Officers my entire life. A Tornadoe Grows in Brooklyn? I never my life heard of any such thing, but there it was on the T.V. just the other day…a Tornadoe in Brooklyn, NYC. That’s surely a sign of the coming End Times, even a heathen like yourself should be able to recognize.
I gotta get back to figgerin’ out how to submerge the compleat U.S. and A. underwater so I can perform the Right of Sanctimonious Baptism over everybody at once, so we’re all 100%…we don’t want no “halfs.”
By the way, one last question somebody on this thing might just know: I know the “Red” in our Glorious Flag of Patriotism stands for the shedded Blood of Jesus, and the “White” stands for the fact we’re the Superior Race, chosen by God in His Infinite Wisdom to rule the world and have our way with it, but does anybody know what the “Blue” is supposed to mean? Please tell me it don’t have nothin to do with any parts of that gosh-darn Democrat party bunch.
In closing, Pray this with me:
    “Oh Heavenly God,
    Thou Art So Huge.
    Let me Tell You,
    We’re All Really Impressed
    Down Here.”
Repeat this 100 times a day, and anything you wish will be granted…even if it’s a wish for something bad to happen to your smiteful foes. Eventually. The Lord’s got a lot of stuff on His Heavenly Blue Plate Special, and your wish may be way at the very far end of the Eternal Buffet Table, if you know what I mean. But Our Father has an Infinite Appetite and is Never Completely Full. One Bite from His Sacred Mouth and there goes our 6000 year old planet and the Sun and Moon that circles it. And then He could just Gloriously fart or belch or burp the dang deal back out agin. So, Patients is a Virtue.

“she would detest the publicity that move would give us. She would hate it in the sense that it might detract from the noble mission of Sam Brownback.”

So, …the only problem you have with aligning BFB2008 with Fred Phelps and his ideology
is that it’s so out of the mainstream that you folks fear it would garner negative publicity?

C’mon now Brother Mac,…[grow some you know whats].. have the courage of yours and Mrs. Gaines Crockett’s convictions to espouse your beliefs to the masses. Don’t be ashamed of what the publicity would do. You folks believe in Biblical murder. Proclaim it loudly from the highest hill tops for all to hear…….. or

Is what you ‘believe’ only to be spoken of in the shadows and back rooms where frauds launch conspiracies and other plots?

I think everyone would be VERY interested to know that Brownback and his supporters think Fred Phelps & Co. are correct in asserting that Americans who die in Iraq deserved to die and are going to hell.

  428. Well E I thought by posting on a public forum such as this…I was coming public.
Did someone invite you into this little secret internet Bohemian Grove? No you found it by yourself…

    So…

    hey I’m public

  429. lol E quit twisting…
I said Mrs Gaines Crockett’s prime motivation is to support Sam Brownback.
Now if she were to align with Fred Phelps it might take the onus elsewhere and that defeats the purpose.

I’m sure Mrs Gaines Crockett holds Mr Phelps in the highest regard (though not as high as the regard we have for Sam Brownback)

Do try and not twist clear sentences and meanings

    :)

actually,….. it was the fetid stench of bigotry, hatred and hypocrisy
    masquerading as religion…

even over the ‘internets’… BFB2008 is an overwhelming foul, and offensive odor
that needs a little bit of public sunshine to help cleanse the festering ideological sores of your twisted hearts and minds.

  431. Be that as it may E…
    certainly it is public

well, I am glad you folks don’t believe in killing cats.. LOL

I do hope that you will choose another candidate
after Brownback vanishes and startup another website of ’support’

    It’s been a stone cold gas…..

I sure hope “Sad Christian” wasn’t talking about me, that I’m an “complete embrassment to yourself,” and that I had some kinda “theofacist agenda” and that my “hate can cut through iron gate, right into the path of hill,” where I belong. I’m talking about morality, and this person want me to focus my attention their.

Well, I been thinking about this Holy Baptizm of everybody, weather they want it or not, to make the country 100% again. And I think the problem is the schools.
Now lucky for me, I didn’t have much schoolin. I flunked the 3rd, 5th and 9th grades, and that was enough. But I’m proud of that, because the last 50 years or so, the rise of liberal, sexular humanism has done replaced that good old-time religion in our schools.

See, we used to start off each and every day with our teacher learnin’ us something from the Holy Bible, then singin’ “America the Beautiful” or “Our Country ‘Tis of Thee” – cause it mentions God, see, and the so-called national anthem don’t, and there weren’t no acceptions made just because you wasn’t White or Good Christian but got in our school anyways – followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to The Flag, and then we’d all get to prayin’ this prayer, that went a little somethin’ like this here:
“I pledge allegiance to the Cross,
of the One True Religion of the Unied States and America.
And to the Republicans for which It stands,
    One White Nation, under God,
    Invisible,
With Liberty and Justice for Us, God’s Chosen People.”

Then at recess, we’d put on these White hoods and robes and set us a big, roaring fire.
Those were the days, everybody dressin’ up alike and bein’ told what to do.

Anyhow, back then, with all that prayin’ and being read parts of God’s Sacred Word to us, slavery, segregation and such was the Way of the Righteousness.
But shoot, now that prayin’ is out of the schools, you can’t do any of that stuff anymore…now it’s all considered to be criminal activity. But back when we had the Bible in our schools, all of it was just fine.
I Pray to Our Lord and Savior…and His Father, but I think the Old Man’s passed most of the Holy Family business off to His Son by now…that Tancredo or y’all’s boy Brownback sets this country back the way it used to be.

Yours in Sealing the Borders, More Secret Prisons (both Foreign AND Domesticated), Nuking Iran, Continuing to Vote Inexplicably Against Our Own Best Interests, and Being Easily Taken Advantage Of by Any Self-Avowed Conservative Who Simply Utters the Magic Words (“God,” “gun ownership,” “gays,” “pro-life” and “illegal immigrants”)…
